We've compiled a comprehensive list of homeschool resources for each county in North Carolina, so you can easily find what you need. Alamance County

1. Alamance County Homeschoolers: Facebook group for homeschoolers in Alamance County to connect and share resources and information.

Durham County

1. Homeschool Learning Lab: Meets at the North Durham Library and provides free homeschool activities and lessons for children ages 4-18. 

 

2. Chapel Hill-Durham Homeschoolers: provides an active online community, social events, and enrichment programs.

 

3. Triangle Homeschool Resource Center (THRC): THRC is a cooperative organization that offers classes and resources for homeschooling families in the Triangle area, including Durham. They provide a variety of classes taught by parent volunteers and outside instructors.

4. Piedmont Wildlife Center: Homeschool program that provides an opportunity for your child to engage with others and grow on their own terms.

Forsyth County

1. Forsyth Home Educators: Forsyth Home Educators is a support group for homeschooling families in Forsyth County. They provide resources, support, and social opportunities for homeschooling parents and students.

Granville County

1. Granville Area Homeschool Hangs: a support social group for homeschooling families in Granville County. They provide resources, information, and social opportunities for homeschooling parents and students. 

 

2. Granville County Library Systems: They offer support with educational programs for homeschooling families.

3. South Granville Athletic Association (SGAA): Provides athletics year round for homeschool families interested

Guilford County

1. Greensboro Home Educators (GHE): Christian homeschool group of families residing in Guilford County, NC. They provide support, communication, fellowship, and educational experiences for our members and to promote homeschooling as an attractive educational alternative. 

Wake County

1. Triangle Homeschool Resource Center (THRC): THRC is a comprehensive resource center that provides support, resources, and educational opportunities for homeschooling families in the Triangle area, including Wake County. They offer classes, workshops, field trips, and a lending library. 

 

2. Wake County Homeschoolers: Wake County Homeschoolers is a Facebook group that serves as a platform for homeschooling families in Wake County to connect, share resources, ask questions, and plan activities. It is a great place to network and find support within the local homeschooling community.

Statewide

1. North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE): NCHE is a statewide homeschool organization that provides support, resources, and advocacy for homeschooling families in North Carolina. They offer a variety of services including a homeschool conference, legislative updates, and a quarterly magazine. 

 

2. North Carolina Association of Independent Schools (NCAIS): NCAIS is an association that represents independent schools in North Carolina, including homeschools. They provide support and resources for homeschooling families, as well as networking opportunities and advocacy at the state level. 

 

3. North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education (NCDNPE): The NCDNPE is the state government agency responsible for overseeing homeschooling in North Carolina. They provide information on legal requirements, registration, and other resources for homeschooling families. 

 

4. North Carolina Homeschooling Information: This website serves as a comprehensive resource for homeschooling families in North Carolina. It provides information on legal requirements, support groups, curriculum options, and other resources for homeschooling throughout the state.

5. Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA): as an HSLDA member, you receive access to their team of attorneys experienced in dealing with homeschool issues and they offer homeschool information and grants as well.
